Color My World

My husband, Al,  and I have spent the last 5 days in Springfield, Missouri.  It has been a most enjoyable respite starting with spending Sunday with one of my sisters and her family.  The last three days have been spent at an art workshop on color theory.  I have long wanted to learn more about color theory and this workshop has been worth the wait.  The instructor likened the exercises to playing the scales when learning to play the piano, but I think this has been both more fun and more instructive than that.

I can now say that I understand a color wheel and how to use it, having made my own.  (I will note that everything you see here was made from 5 colors – yellow, red, blue, white, and black.)  The color wheel instructs in the difference between primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.  It can also indicate temperature, as primary colors can be warm or cool versions of the same color. I had intended to post both, but for whatever reason, my temperature based color wheel will not load.
